Promotion of Access to Information Act — Section 51 Manual for Socinga Africa.
This manual is published in accordance with Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The purpose of this Act is to give effect to the constitutional right of access to information held by private bodies, as provided in Section 32 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996.

Socinga Africa holds records relating to the following categories of information, which may be requested in accordance with this manual: insurance policy documentation and policyholder records; financial records and annual statements; employment contracts and HR records; board and governance documentation; regulatory correspondence and compliance records; marketing and communications records; supplier and partner contracts; claims administration records.
Access to certain records may be refused in accordance with sections 63–69 of PAIA, including where disclosure would: unreasonably disclose personal information of a third party; disclose commercially sensitive or confidential business information; be in conflict with South African law or international obligations; prejudice the safety or security of individuals.
Formal requests for access to information must be submitted in writing to the Information Officer at info@socinga.africa, or by hand to our registered office at 24 Kemphaan Street, Florida Lake, Roodepoort, 1709. Requests must include: full name and contact details of the requester; a clear description of the records sought; the form in which access is required; and payment of the prescribed request fee (in accordance with the PAIA regulations). Socinga Africa will respond within 30 days of receipt unless an extension is granted.
